There comes a moment in each lifetime when we stand at a crossroads, a decision about the direction we will take our life. It’s often a difficult decision that requires intense soul searching. If you recall, Jesus took 40 days in the desert to make this type of decision for his lifetime. Once you decide and start walking your path, you can change your mind. Remember this at every intersection you encounter, for indeed the path you walk looks differently from the one you see in your mind’s eye. You will only be sure you’ve made the right choice once you cross over to the other side. That is unless you master controlling your mind for total awareness while you’re here.
Ah the mystery of guilt, a burden from the past projected into the present that stops our enjoyment and impedes success. The funny thing about guilt being that it is typically not in our voice but rather someone who trained us from a very young age that certain behaviors and actions are not acceptable. But after the correction, they persisted in repeatedly reminding us, negatively, of our transgressions to the point we feared the loss their love, their affection. These patterns, over time, became part of the fabric of our consciousness, albeit typically deep within the background. The remedy for guilt is stillness meditation, to calm guilt’s emotional hold, in combination with affirmative statements of worth, deservingness and love which serve to replace guilt’s hold, allowing our minds to stay present, in the moment, and originate positive, supportive thoughts of our choosing.
Hi ho. There are as many ways to be Spiritual as there are people on this planet and Spirits on this side. We mostly forget this in our search for “Spiritual Enlightenment.” We each are enlightened all the time. You being exactly who you are and honoring that person above all else is the only place you can be. There are many practices and disciplines to help you be present in this moment. There are ways to know your next step. There are techniques to impress your friends and loved ones at parties. But when all is said and done, you are on your path toward your individual, personal spiritual perfection. When you arrive there, you will be the same person you are today. Your will be more aware of our universe, and your place in it. Some will call you an Avatar. But that day is no better than this day. Because you can only be in one place at one time and today, you are here. Enjoy today, have some fun. Be happy. It’s the most Spiritual thing you can do!
As you take measure of your life and most importantly your next few steps it’s important to know yourself. Is the you making the decisions of your life your “self” or Your “Self”. The difference is one of semantics I know, but none-the-less are semantics not what awareness is? Your “self” is physically and emotionally directed concerned with survival, pain and pleasure. Your “Self” is spiritually oriented concerned with an often subtle, uneasy feeling that something is not quite right or on track, yet beautiful. Your “Self” is revealed as your “self” disappears through meditation and spiritual practice. Enjoy discovering the essence of who you are and what connects us as one.
#SpiritShorts: Today’s message is from Gene:
Look around you. What do you see? More importantly, what are you not seeing? If you’ve always felt that there is more to life than what meets the eye, you’re correct. However, if you’ve never had such a thought, you too are right. Therein lies the beauty of life. We each live in a reality of our choosing. For some, however, there exists a feeling, a knowing, an uneasiness that there is more. This feeling sets many on a quest of discovery. Initially, we look everywhere; until eventually we know the only place we will find answers lies within. In the grand scheme of things, your thoughts and feelings matter little. That is until that we realize that everything we hold as true and real is indeed only one perspective, one interpretation. Look around you. What do you see?
